A Mesh of Light
Around the Earth

Aether is a laser-meshed low Earth orbit constellation built to deliver low-latency broadband to maritime, aviation, rural, government, and enterprise users — wherever terrestrial fiber doesn't reach.

How It Works

Four steps between a satellite passing overhead and data reaching the ground.

  1. Optical Mesh Relay

Satellites pass data between each other over laser inter-satellite links, routing around the curve of the Earth without touching the ground.

  2. Ground Gateway Uplink

Regional gateway stations connect the mesh to terrestrial internet backbone infrastructure.

  3. User Terminal Phased Array

A flat-panel phased-array terminal at the user's location tracks satellites overhead and exchanges data over Ka/Ku-band links.

  4. Dynamic Routing

Onboard software continuously re-routes traffic across the mesh as satellites move in and out of view, keeping connections seamless.

Use Cases

Maritime

Continuous connectivity for vessels far beyond the reach of coastal networks.

Aviation

Cabin and cockpit broadband that stays connected over oceans and polar routes.

Rural & Remote Broadband

Bringing fiber-comparable speeds to communities terrestrial buildout never reached.

Disaster Response

Rapidly deployable connectivity when terrestrial infrastructure goes down.

Government & Defense

Hardened, encrypted lanes for sensitive government and defense communications.

Enterprise Backhaul

Resilient, low-latency backhaul for distributed enterprise and industrial sites.

Rollout Plan

  • Phase 0 — Prototype

    2025 · Complete

The first six satellites launched to validate optical inter-satellite links and ground gateway architecture.

  • Phase 1 — Regional Coverage

    2026–2027

Initial regional service launches across priority maritime and aviation corridors.

  • Phase 2 — Continental Coverage

    2027–2028

Expanded shell density brings continuous coverage across North America and allied regions.

  • Phase 3 — Global Mesh

    2028–2030

Full constellation buildout reaches global coverage across both orbital shells.

  • Phase 4 — Defense-Grade Encrypted Lanes

    2030 & Beyond

Dedicated encrypted routing lanes and hardened terminals for government and defense users.
